October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. My friend Whitney from Mommies with Style along with Colleen from Classy Mommy, Audrey from Mom Generation and Vera from I’m Not Obsessed has committed to wearing Pink everyday for the month of October to raise awareness for Breast Cancer. Inspired by them, I have decided to try to make one pink food item a day through the month of October.
Today was Day One. I served one of my favorite new cocktails. Wild Hibiscus Flowers in Champagne. It is such a beautiful and elegant drink. You can purchase Wild Hibiscus Flowers in Syrup at Williams & Sonoma. The flower opens up in the glass from the bubbles. The flower has a mild raspberry and rhubarb flavor and is completely edible.
Recipe: Champagne with Wild Hibiscus Flowers
- Wild Hibiscus Flowers in Syrup
- Gently place one flower at the bottom of the champagne flute. Pour in the champagne. Top off with a teaspoon of the syrup.
